The support we provide

As a Supported Housing Landlord we provide each of our tenants with the following Support, all of the support is conditional to and forms part of our tenancy agreement

  • Assistance with benefits
  • Arranging contractors
  • Arranging DIY services
  • Arranging Aids and Adaptations
  • Move on Advice 

We will assist in making new and renewal claims for specified benefits

This means

  • We will assist and offer advice to complete claims for Housing Benefit, Council Tax exemption, Income Support, Employment and Support Allowance, Pension Credit and DLA
  • We will assist and support with all stages of appeal for these benefits, if tenants feel the decision is incorrect
  • We will provide advice and assistance when tenants fall in and out of eligibility
  • We will correspond with Housing Benefit, DLA, DWP and The Pension Service to achieve full entitlement for tenants

Every year we will send a form asking for views on the service tenants are receiving.

The Outcome expected from this service is that tenants receive their full entitlements to benefits.

We will arrange Contractors for tenants

This means

  • We will arrange quotes and liaise with contractors on tenants behalf.
  • We will report jobs to relevant contractor
  • We will track to completion all repairs that are tenants responsibility
  • We will chase all overdue repair jobs
  • We will check with that a job has been done and that tenants are happy with it.

The Outcome expected from this service is all repairs that are tenants responsibility and all jobs that PFL arrange will be done on time and to satisfactory completion

We will help to maintain the property in an appropriate condition

This means

  • We will provide a DIY service
  • We will arrange quotes and liaise with contractors
  • We will report DIY jobs to the contractor
  • We will track any outstanding jobs to completion
  • We will check to make sure a job has been done and that tenants are happy with it
  • We will liaise with Superior Landlords as required
  • We will provide a breakdown of jobs carried out

The Outcome expected is that all DIY jobs you ask PFL to do will be done on time and to the tenants satisfaction

We will help to arrange adaptations to assist with a disability

This means

  • We will provide practical advice to assist with tenants needs
  • We will provide advice on appropriate funding sources
  • We will support in arranging for adaptations to the property to meet the tenants needs
  • We will liaise with the Superior Landlords and contractors
  • We will obtain quotes for the work as required
  • We will track any outstanding jobs to completion
  • We will check to make sure the work has been done and that the tenants are happy with it
  • We will offer advice on ongoing maintenance if any

The Outcome expected is that our tenants will secure funding and have adaptations to meet their needs.

We will provide advice for "moving on"

This means

  • We will help to review the property for our tenants needs
  • We will support tenants to move on to more suitable accommodation that would meet any change in your need
  • We will advise and provide assistance with identifying and adapting a suitable property
  • We will provide advice on appropriate funding sources

The Outcome expected is that tenants will have advice and support to move to their chosen property.
