Partners Foundation recently organised a workshop training day with Happy Smiles Training designed to help the PFL staff become more educated and have more insight into people with learning difficulties and disabilities to better support and understand our tenants with a broader understanding and knowledge.
Happy Smiles Training is a social enterprise that delivers training to schools, businesses and community groups all over the northwest aiming to create more socially inclusive communities for disabled people.
The training commenced with an informative PowerPoint conducted by Alex, Hayden & Anna from the Happy Smiles Group showing valuable insights of the importance and understanding of people with disabilities and becoming disability confident. To encourage interactive learning, the workshop incorporated impactful videos and group discussions, allowing the PFL team to engage in meaningful conversations and exchange perspectives. Alex (who led the training) emphasized the importance of understanding people’s disability and that asking disabled people questions is okay.
We would like to thank Happy Smiles Training for taking the time to come into our office and giving us a good insight into being more disability confident.
