As we draw closer towards the completion of Eastdale in Wigan, we want to give one last report on the last few months before development is completed.
So what has been happening? Over the past three months, significant strides have been made in the development of our new supported living scheme. Staff from our PFL repairs team have been attending training days to learn about the fire alarms, intercom and boiler system, Interior works have been going on with contractors coming in and out of the scheme and tenants have been down to take a tour and to see their new homes.
The apartments and communal areas have been through some transformations. The contractors and construction team have worked closely and most of the apartments have been completed. Here below is are pictures of the Communal Area (left) and One of the Block B apartments (Right)

Our communal areas have been designed to bring a sense of community and belonging to our tenants. The communal areas are spaced out and will be equipped with comfortable furniture and interactive activities to promote social interaction and provide our tenants with opportunities to engage with each other and develop new relationships. As the interior designs near completed, we invited the tenants to view their new apartments. Residents took a tour around the building and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

A few of our PFL repairs team and the staff from PossAbilities attended training sessions at Eastdale to learn about the intercom, Fire Alarms and Boiler systems. These sessions were designed to provide in depth knowledge by professionals to educate our staff so that if anything goes wrong we can respond quickly and have the issue resolved.
