Queens Platinum Jubilee Event

On the 31st May, we held an event to celebrate the Queens Platinum Celebration at one of our housing schemes for our local tenants in Rochdale and Oldham. It was a big turnout as 28 tenants/social workers attended. The event was a great success and everyone who attended had a fantastic time. The event went according to plan as the weather brightened just in time before it was due to start at 1 PM after a dreadful morning shower. The tenants had plenty to do from arts and crafts to painting lovely pictures with a wide option of foods that they could select from our buffet

The day started with the PFL staff decorating River Beal Café and assembling a Gazebo outside with the help our handyman Ben which was covered with Union Jacks and balloons and a buffet was served filled with many sandwiches, cakes, and biscuits. Even though the weather wasn’t the best at first, we were determined to go ahead and thankfully the sun came out just in time for when our tenants arrived. Both the staff and tenants had a great time talking to each other and catching up on what they have been getting up to in the past year.

The feedback from our tenants was positive as they were getting into all the activities that were available for them to use and everyone was chatting to each other. After speaking to a few they have all said that they had a brilliant time and said that they would be more than happy to attend more events like this one. We are always keen to have the views of our tenants and events such as those give us a chance to chat on an informal basis but still find out information which helps influence our current service

After the success of this event, we will do more in the future in different locations
