The PFL team always want to learn more about how we can make our properties safe and sustainable for our tenants. RTC gave a professional presentation, and the team was very well informed about where condensation comes from how, it left untreated, forms into mould. The presentation was overall performed extremely well, and Andrew did a fantastic job sharing his knowledge, experience and understanding to Partners Foundation
So What Have We Learned?
To explain more about what we have learned; Condensation is the changing state of water when it turns from a gas to a liquid, and this is formed from water vapour from inside your home. The sources can vary from kettles, hot showers/baths or wet clothes drying inside so anything that emits water vapour. Did you know that the average household produces up to 17.5 litres of moisture every day!

If the relative humidity is 70% and above mould starts to germinate and grow. Mould can come in various colours such as black, white, and green depending on the surface it is effecting. It is important that you immediately ring our offices if you detect any mould in your properties. This is because mould is very dangerous to vulnerable people and by breathing or touching mould this can cause severe reactions, including asthma attacks, fever, or shortness of breath. Mould can also cause a runny nose, red or itchy eyes and irritates your skin.
As we are in the last month of summer, temperatures will slowly start to decrease causing an increased risk of damp and mould. We ask that during these times you keep your properties ventilated and make sure that your heating is sustained. If you need anymore information about condensation or mould please visit our web page about condensation and mould and if you detect any mould in your property to call the office straight away
