Sponsoring Champions

In October this year, Wigan is hosting the World Catch Wrestling Championships, for children and adults, and there will be approximately 60 competitors from across the world including the USA and Japan.

Partners Foundation Ltd are pleased to sponsor the adult trophies for this fantastic event.

We have in our own town of Wigan a wrestling club which is the home of Aspull Olympic Wresting Club AOWC and the ‘Snakepit’ run by an amazing woman, Andrea Wood.  The whole team there do a great job running and coaching all ages including children, teens and adults.

For many years, AOWC has been held in high regard across the world and have had their club members and the team successfully compete in many countries including South Africa, Bulgaria, France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and the Ukraine to name but a few.

AOWC prides itself on its inclusive policies and has children as young as five years of age who can come and enjoy the sessions. It is the only club that welcomes many children with disabilities and shows that there is a place for everyone to join in sport.

The standards of the club led to it being one of the first clubs to be awarded Clubmark, a kitemark status that represents the high-level coaching, facilities, organisation and policies that govern the club and make it the outstanding club it is known to be.

Numerous awards have been given for recognition of the club and it’s members including Coach of The Year Awards going to three of the coaches at the club.

Snake Pit is bringing back another type of wrestling which is Catch Wrestling. Wigan has a long history of champions and the sport over the decades has spread across the world. Snake Pit Catch Wrestling World Championships brings those competitors together to test their skills at the home of the sport, Wigan!

We wish everyone well at the upcoming event, competitors, volunteers, sponsors  and supporters, and wish Andrea and the team continued success in making a difference to people’s lives and the community.  The event is to be held at The Edge, Wigan.

Electrical Safety

We use electricity every day in our home and we sometimes forget how dangerous it can be. Here are some tips to improve safety around your home, it is a good idea to check for these common faults/dangers:

  • Check for frayed or damaged leads
  • Tuck leads safely out of the way and keep them neat and tidy
  • If you have any cracked plugs, sockets and switches report them to us straight away
  • When using bulbs only use ones at or below the maximum wattage
  • Remember water and electricity do not mix – do not unplug or plug things in with wet hands, be careful if you spill water near or over appliances
  • Don’t overload sockets, too many plugs in one socket can be dangerous, overheat and cause fire

If you have any concerns about any of your electric or electrical appliances, please contact us on 01706 759330 or 01706 753678
